Linda Seton: What’s the use of having all this jack around if it can’t get us a superior kind of man?
Watched Holiday last night. What a fantastic movie. Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn lit up my screen last night with some great turns (esp the lady Hep, can I still grow up to be her?).
The plot centers around Cary Grant’s character Johnny Case, a young guy working on Wall Street and doing well, who meets a girl, Julia Seton, on a holiday at Lake Placid (all this is before the film starts). When she takes him home to announce their engagement (after knowing each other 10 days) he finds out she’s rich. And as you might guess, hilarity ensues. The major aspects of this film seemed pretty timeless. How important is money? What’s the difference between the rich and the poor? Is it realistic to live for your dream even if your dream is unrealistic?
I’d give the film a hearty recommendation. It’s available on Netflix Watch It Now, so you really have no excuse to resist.
